So I am
taking this Milwaukee
Writing Project Workshop as a part of my job for two weeks. The
objective: Learn this program so better to assist teachers and docents with the
Writing and Art Tour. In
addition, be prepared to assist with instruction in the galleries as needed.
This entire workshop is based on the concept of writing circles. Each day at
the end of the day, we have writing circles, mine is called: The Hemingways. So I figured, rather then let all this “good
writing” go to waste, I would just add it to my blog as an effort to help me
get revved up again. Our first writing circle selected topic was: Health and
Fitness… Enjoy!
Health and Fitness are a key
part of my life. Yes, “I’m one of those…”
I also make it a practice to read labels. I want to be sure I am aware of
what is going both ON and IN my body. I have a simple rule—If I can’t pronounce
it, I don’t buy it! I tend to choose water over soda, although I am partial to
a cold Arnold Palmer in summer. And I am also a vegetarian, but I admit I still
eat some fish when training, but after awhile it starts to taste gross too.
I move a little or a lot everyday. I tend to walk to work and in fact I
am the Milwaukee Ambassador for my national runner’s club, Black Girls Run! No, you don’t have to
be black to participate, but you do have to be a woman. It’s awesome watching
these ladies transform before you.
In October of 2006 I made the decision to be a better me and live a
different way. I haven’t looked back and have no regrets!

You go Laci! I'm with you. Being good stewards over our bodies is very important. It makes you feel better all the way around.
